Olaju Green

April 27, 1991 — July 23, 2009

Olaju "O.J." Green, 18, of Canal Winchester, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. He was born April 27, 1991 in Cambridge, son of Bobby and Suzanne "Mitzie" Green of Canal Winchester. O.J. was a life guard at the Groveport Rec. Center, and was a salesman for Vector in Reynoldsburg. He was a 2009 graduate of Canal Winchester High School and was to attend Otterbein College in the fall to study Art and play football. He attended the former Community Faith Church, and the Brice United Methodist Church, Leo club, enjoyed art, music, lifting weights, muscle cars, and playing sports. While in school he played baseball, ran track, and was a standout and captain for the Indians football team. O.J. was also a top Art student. He was one of the finalists for the 2009 Inaugural Congress Art Work. Some of his art is being displayed at the Lancaster Artwalk and is being honored for his work by Congressman Steve Austria. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Melvin and Elmyra Green, and Marie Homulos. In addition to his parents he is survived by one brother, Joshua (Jae) green of Fort Drum, N.Y.; two sisters, Ebonee and Miaya Green, both of the home; grandparents, Andy & Helen Mizisin, and Carl Homulos both of Byesville; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. at Brice United Methodist Church in Brice with services to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor David Wells officiating, and Wednesday 12 noon - 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home with services to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Randolph White officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
