Paris Lewis Combs, 75, of Cambridge died Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at his home. He was born October 25, 1948, in Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a chef for over 30 years.
Paris was a member of Called to Freedom Fellowship of Cambridge and was loved by all. He loved to worship and study the Word and was an avid photographer.
He is predeceased by his wife, Roberta (Zimmer) Combs, whom he married on May 13, 1995, a stepson Michael Saylors, his parents, Paris and Jean (Moore) Combs, his siblings, Christina Singleton, Melissa Combs, Marcia Jones, Billy, Vincent, and Frederick Combs, and two brothers-in-law, Robert Petrokas and Richard Robinson.
He is survived by a son, Nathanial Strickland of Dayton, Ohio, a step-son, Matthew Saylors (Jessica Back) of Vandalia: five sisters-in-law, Judith Petrokas of Centerville, Janet (Gayle) Batton of Arcadia, FL, Marcia (Bob) Hollins of Cambridge, Marilyn Robinson of Fairborn, and Nancy (Joe) Teerman of Howard City, Michigan; five grandchildren, Shannon, McKenna, Megan, Carter, and Holt, and many nieces and nephews; including Ashley Dalton, his niece and caregiver.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Guernsey. The family thanks the ladies from Hospice for their loving care and support of Paris.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
