Parley Carper Long, 82, of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Cambridge Place.
Parley was born on August 6, 1943, in Evansville, IN, a son of the late Charles Burton and Mary Margaret (Casto) Long.
Parley was an avid reader and enjoyed playing chess, woodworking, photography and spending time with his family. He was the owner of Quality Systems Advisory and a member of MENSA.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Charles (Linda) Long Jr.
Parley is survived by his wife, Georgianna Kaye (Thompson) Long, whom he married on August 14, 1965; his sons, Kevin (Shelly) Long of Cambridge and Shawn (Aimee) Long of Cambridge; his daughter, Tracy (Tommy) Coulter of Grove City; six grandchildren, Anthony Mawhorter, Zackary (Angel) Long, Grant (Amber) Mawhorter, Spencer (Vicky) Long, Parker Long, and Annie Coulter; and three great-grandchildren, Alek Mawhorter, Lavender Mawhorter and Theon Long. Also left to cherish his memory are his sister-in-law, Margo Noelting; his niece, Elizabeth Bowden; his nephew, Timothy (Joanie) Long; and his grandniece, Karoline Bowden.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 11AM-1PM with the service to immediately follow at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with Pastor Rodney West officiating.
