Pastor Charles "Charlie" James Hutchison, a great man, husband, father, grandfather, and a Pastor.
A man's footprint in life is only as big as his willingness to allow the Lord to guide him. On April 3, 2021, Pastor Charles transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life with Christ Jesus.
He was born September 19, 1953, in Cambridge, Ohio, son of the late James Edward and Lena Lowry Hutchison.
Pastor Charles was a native to Cambridge Ohio. He met his high school sweetheart Brenda at Cambridge High School, graduated in 1972 and married her all in the same year.
He was a former employee of the Fabri Form Company in Byesville, Ohio for 42 years where he worked as an Extruder Operator.
Pastor Hutchison attended Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois where he earned his degree in Theology. After earning his degree he served as the Pastor at many local churches including Londonderry United Methodist Church, Fairview United Methodist Church, Pleasant City United Methodist Church and Byesville Trinity United Methodist Church, Pastor Charles was currently serving as the Pastor of Mt Hermon Presbyterian Church in Indian Camp since March 18, 2001. He especially enjoyed attending the Rushing Wind Biker Church.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Harper Hutchison, with whom he would have celebrated 49 years of marriage to on June 24, 2021; son, Joshua (Kaci) Hutchison; daughter, Abby Hutchison; grandsons, Silas and Slade; son, Lucas (Courtney) Hutchison; grandchildren, Chloe, Molly all from Cambridge; sisters, Rita Barclay, Phyllis (Robert) Knott, and Wanda (Bruce) Burris; sisters-in-law, Kathy (John) Fantin, Kim (Jeff) Graham, and Amy Harper; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pastor Charles also had a very special dog that never left his side, Miss Daisy Duke.
Pastor Charles enjoyed most of all, being with his family. He loved all of them and enjoyed hosting for holidays. He shared a special bond with his two grandsons Silas and Slade who he spent a lot of times watching them play sports and loved to play catch with. He loved to take them fishing and camping at Salt Fork State Park and to amusement parks. He loved to grill, do woodworking, ride motorcycles, play pool, shopping, and family trips to the ocean. He had coached Little League Baseball and was a Cub Scout Leader. At Christmas time you could find Pastor Charles at the Courthouse Light Show trying to lead people to Christ by passing out cards on how to find Jesus.
After a courageous battle with cancer, the Lord gave him his final promotion to his heavenly home. After 32 years of working to get to Heaven, we know dad is finally there. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
