Patricia Rae Parrish peacefully passed away on June 19th, 2023, after bravely enduring a prolonged illness. Born on November 4th, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Vera Brindle. Patricia, who was known as Patsy, Pat, or Patti by her loved ones and friends, resided in the Primrose Retirement Center of Zanesville, but spent many fulfilling retirement years in the state of Florida. However, the majority of her life was spent in Guernsey County, including Cambridge and a beef farm outside of Antrim.
It was in Cambridge that she met and married Kenneth Dale Parrish Jr., her sweetheart of 59 years, who passed away in 2020. Throughout her life, Patricia embarked on numerous remarkable adventures. She played a pivotal role in the development of Whispering Pines Estates near Cambridge and traversed the country alongside her husband, navigating the roads in a semi-truck. Patricia contributed her talents to Colgate Palmolive for several years as well as owned and operated the Fairdale Truck Stop Restaurant.
A woman of deep faith, she devoutly worshipped the Lord and shared her musical voice, lifting His praises at various churches and nursing homes in the vicinity. Patricia's dedication extended beyond her spiritual endeavors, as she served as the past president of the local chapter of Women's Aglow Fellowship. Currently, she was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God in Fruitland Park, Florida.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Sherrie (Kevin) Hart, Cathy (Gary) Raley, Barb (Andy) Heffner, and Ken (Stephanie) Parrish. She will forever be remembered by her fourteen grandchildren: Erica (Ken) Sapp, Rory (Jessica) Hart, Hilary Hart, Melissa (Jake) Ratliffe, Jaime Raley, Matt Raley, Josh Raley, Nate (Ali) Heffner, Eric Heffner, Emily Heffner, Kenny (Rachel) Parrish, Luke Parrish, Courtney Parrish, and Andrew Wells. Patricia's fourteen great-grandchildren, Sydney Sapp, Logan, Brayen, Ronan, and Brennan Hart, Everett Moon, Gary, Henry, and Thomas Ratliffe, Nolan and Walker Heffner, Kenneth Ray III and Rider Parrish, and Gracie Tsai, brought much joy to her life. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis (Vivian) Brindle, two brother-in-laws, John (Georgie) Parrish and Robert Parrish, sister-in-law Kim Parrish, and numerous nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her brother-in-laws Thomas and James Parrish.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Genesis Hospice and Primrose Retirement Center for their unwavering care and support during this challenging time. A visitation will be held at the Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, OH, on Friday, June 23rd, from 12 pm to 1 pm, followed by a funeral service commencing at 1 pm.
