Patricia Hickenbottom

Patricia Hickenbottom, 67, of Cambridge, died Thursday (April 16, 2015) at The Ohio State University Medical Center - James Cancer Center, Columbus. She was born March 17, 1948 in Cambridge, daughter of Audrey (Mann) Burns of Cambridge and the late George E. Nicholson. Mrs. Hickenbottom retired from Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, where she had worked as an R.N.C. in the obstetrics department for many years. She had earned her nursing degree from Akron City Hospital in 1969. She started the hospital's bereavement program for the families coping with the loss of an infant. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved playing bingo. Mrs. Hickenbottom was a member of the New Concord Church of Christ. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant brother and an infant sister. She is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Hickenbottom, whom she married June 1, 1969; her mother, Audrey Burns of Cambridge; a son, Jeffrey Ross (& Sherry) Hickenbottom of Cambridge; a daughter, Lisa Dawn Phillips of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Kayla Stewart, James Ross Hickenbottom, Matt Phillips, Kelsey Phillips, and Jason Phillips; a great-grandson, Braxton Earley; her cousin, Sondra (& Larry) Lallathin and their children, Tammy and Tom; and her special friends, Gary, Patty, Nicholas, and Tienna Wallace. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Tuesday (April 21, 2015) at 11:00 a.m. with Evangelist Dick Harris officiating. Burial will be at Somerton Cemetery on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. (A funeral procession will leave the parking lot of Thorn-Black Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Wednesday.)
