Paul David Fields Sr.

Paul David Fields Sr., 71, passed peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday (March 28, 2009) at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on February 17, 1938 in Cambridge, son of the late Revere Fields and Dora (Gibson) Fields. Mr. Fields was a retired Cambridge City street department foreman. He attended Trinity Baptist Church of Cambridge. Mr. Fields was a 1957 graduate of Cambridge High School. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing Tiger Woods Golf and listening to The Bible at night. Mr. Fields was a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph, Melvin, Harold, Clarence and Robert; and a sister, Ida Mae. He leaves his wife, Laura Mae (Adams) Fields of the home, whom he married on November 8, 1960; two sons, Paul (& Sally) Fields Jr. and Charles Fields both of Cambridge; two daughters, Lori Mitchell and Paula (& John) Moore both of Cambridge; three brothers, Charles (& Jessie) Fields of Uniontown, James Fields of Cambridge and Saul "Barney" McCoy of East Liverpool; two sisters, Elizabeth "Bessie" Tobin of Cambridge and Tanis Fields of California; five grandchildren, Charlotta Fields of Cambridge, Darren Fields of Cambridge, Laura Mitchell of Cambridge, Gary (& Amy) Sigman of Cambridge and Quaron Moore-Brown of Columbus; a great-grandchild, Alaina Sigman of Cambridge; many nieces, nephews and close friends, including his best friend, Dan (& Vivian) Rittenhouse of Wooster; and his grand-dogs, Ereus, Jasper, Omegas and Nia. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Friday (April 3, 2009) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Stinson officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 9260 Cadiz Road, Cambridge OH 43725.
