Paul L. "Gibby" Gibson, 66, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (September 23, 2009) at his home. He was born January 16, 1943 in Guernsey County, son of James Gibson and the late Ruth M. (Sherrard) Gibson. Mr. Gibson retired from Ohio Bridge after fifteen years of service. He was also a long-time employee of Randall Plastics and Plastic Fabricators. He attended Brown High School. He was a member of the Eagles and the Moose. He enjoyed collecting aluminum cans, and was affectionately known as the "Can Man". He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns and Cambridge Bobcats fan. He enjoyed going to car shows and also fishing. He liked being outdoors and four-wheeling whenever he could. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Rose M. (Kyser) Gibson of the home, whom he married on June 28, 1964; his father, James (& Doris) Gibson of Cambridge; a son, Tim (& Tamara) Gibson of Cambridge; a daughter, Paula S. King of Cambridge; four sisters, Virginia (& Bob) Freeman of Findlay, Mary Lou (& Wayne) Welker of FL, Ruthie (& Tom) Hiles of Cambridge and Karen (& Mark) Osher of Chicago IL; four grandchildren, Courtney King, Cody King, Ziciah Gibson and Cinjin Gibson; and several nieces, nephews, close friends & relatives. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Monday (September 28, 2009) at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Mansperger officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
