Paul A. Jamiel, 81, of Cambridge, passed away Monday (July 2, 2012) at his home. He was born May 29, 1931 in Cambridge, the son of the late Alex and Julia Jamiel. Paul was a 27 year employee of Phillips Products as an inspector. He later retired from T.W. Metals. He was a member of Christ Our Light Parish, an Army Korean war veteran, and a 1950 graduate of St. Benedict H.S. Paul enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, and cherished the time spent with them. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Michael Jamiel. He is survived by his wife Mary J. (Sichina) Jamiel, of Cambridge, whom he married Oct. 2, 1954; three sons, Paul (Susan) Jamiel, Vancouver, Wash., Matthew (Kathy) Jamiel, and Mark (Lisa) Jamiel, both of Cambridge,; two daughters, Marie (Dick) Wilson, Cambridge, and Julia (Larry) Shaw, of Coshocton; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Adam, John, Sarah, Andrea, Ryan, Woody, and Rachel; two step-grandchildren, Brian and Sherri Wilson; ten Great Grandchildren; and one brother Francis (Karen) Jamiel, Cambridge. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Thorn-Black-Funeral Home, Cambridge. Additional calling hours will be Friday from 10-11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cambridge with military services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Benedict School and Hospice of Guernsey.
