Paul R. "Sweetwater" Simpson, 78, of Cambridge, died Thursday (December 30, 2010) at his home. He was born April 9, 1932 in Cambridge, son of the late Andrew Simpson and Goldie (Gowins) Simpson. Mr. Simpson was self-employed with Paul's Cleaning Service, from where he retired. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Newcomerstown. He was a member of the Lions Club of Cambridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Simpson; and a sister, Donna Simpson. He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Dansby) Simpson of the home, whom he married December 25, 1952; two sons, Paul Stevens (& Teresa) Simpson of Columbus and Tim Orlando Simpson of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Latoya, Lindsay, Derek, and Kyle Simpson; and a great-granddaughter. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday (January 4, 2011) at 1 p.m. with Pastor Randolph White officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
