Paul George Stempko

Paul George Stempko, 84, of Cambridge, died Friday (December 28, 2012) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born May 14, 1928 in McAdoo PA, son of the late Paul Stempko and Ella (Morris) Stempko. Mr. Stempko retired from the State of Ohio - Cambridge MRDD. He was a member of Christ Our Light Parish. He was a 1950 graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia PA having received a BS in 1950, concentrating in business administration, and was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Stempko was a US Navy veteran, having served from 1946 through 1948 as a Pharmacists's Mate First Class. He received the American Theater and World War II Victory medals. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (Bunsa) Stempko. He is survived by four sons, Paul Thomas (& Jessica) Stempko of Round Rock TX, David (& Marlane) Stempko of Maynard MA, Mark (& Kathy) Stempko of Westerville, and John (& Karan) Stempko of Westerville; a brother, Joseph Stempko of Cambridge; and five grandchildren, Julia, Kelsey, Joshua, Rachel, and Drake. The family also wishes to extend a special thanks to Angie Doerfler and the Doerfler Family for their care & support. Family and friends may call on Thursday (January 3, 2013) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday (January 3, 2012) at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, with Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
