Paula June (Loy) Murphy, 95, of Heath, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at The Inn at Chapel Grove.
Paula was born April 16, 1927, in Cambridge, Ohio, a daughter to the late John T. and Mildred (Rochester) Loy.
She was a retired secretary from Vanadium, the YMCA, and Roberts Reality. She also liked to remind her family that she was a former City Clerk of Council. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1945 and then attended both the Cambridge Business College and the Bliss Business College in Columbus. She was a secretary for the Guernsey County Historical Society, a Life Member of the VFW Post 2901, a member of the Cambridge Chapter of the Gold Star Mothers, was involved with Kountry Swingers, and enjoyed going to the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Russel L. Murphy, whom she married on June 19, 1964, and who passed on November 14, 2013, her only son Dennis Loy Phillips who was killed in Vietnam on July 7, 1966, and one sister Phyllis Lee.
Paula is survived by two step- daughters, Kimber Lee Balzano of Columbus and Kassie Louise (& Roy) Hook of Columbus, two grandchildren, Mindy Lee Hurley of Columbus, and Robert E. Balzano of Columbus. Also left to cherish her memories are her nieces and nephews, Tom (& Angie) Decker of Heath, Debbie (& Jeff) Baucher of Heath, Lee Ann (& Larry) Cunningham of Cambridge, Mickie Sue (& Wade) Raquet of Leander, Tx and Tommi Ann (& Curtis) Wright of Brockport, Tx.
There will be a graveside service held on Monday, January 23, 2022, at 11am at Guernsey Memory Gardens.
