Peggy Sue (Poulton) Hamilton

Peggy Sue (Poulton) Hamilton, 55, of Tallahassee FL, died peacefully on Monday (March 21, 2016) after an 8-month fight with cancer. She was surrounded in love by her family at the time of her passing. She was born September 15, 1960 in Barnesville, daughter of Tony Poulton and Marianne (Crager) Poulton. She was a 1978 graduate of Shenandoah High School and was one of the many "One More Time" majorettes under Deno Capello. She graduated from Regis Nursing College in 1999. Mrs. Hamilton had been an RN for thirty-five years. She had recently worked for the State of Florida as a state surveyor for five years, as well as working for the Brynwood Nursing Home of Tallahassee as the director of nursing. She was a wonderful nurse and was excellent at what she did. She was admired and loved by all she cared for. Mrs. Hamilton was a member of Batesville American Legion Post 578 Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Kit McManaway, who died in 1999. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Thomas Hamilton, whom she married January 17, 2004; her parents, Tony and Marianne Poulton of Quaker City OH; her siblings, Tim (& Lisa) Poulton of Senecaville OH, Joann (& Cliff) Thorngate of Quaker City OH, and Jerry (& Susan) Poulton of Norman IN; her nieces, Taylor Poulton of Senecaville OH and Claire Poulton of Norman IN; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Charlene Hamilton of Ocean Side CA; her sister-in-law, Jennifer Hamilton of Israel; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many very special friends and co-workers. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where a vigil service will begin at 7:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday (March 29, 2016) at 11 a.m. with Father Dave Cornett officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Temperanceville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church of Temperanceville OH, in care of Assumption Catholic Church, 306 W Main Street, Barnesville OH 43713.
