Percy Ralph "Killer" Eynon, 90, passed away Thursday (June 3, 2021). He was born June 8, 1930 and lived his entire life in Cambridge, OH.
Ralph, as he was known, worked 40 years at Columbia Gas of Ohio where he had been a "regulator man". He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Cambridge and a 1949 graduate of Cambridge High School. He was a member of the Cambridge Moose Lodge 631 and Eagles Aerie 386.
Mr. Eynon was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Guernsey County Veterans Council and a life member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901. His greatest honor was serving in the VFW Post 2901 Honor Guard. He felt it was a privilege to honor the men and women who served in our country's military whether it was as they were laid to rest or firing a 21-gun salute at the annual Memorial Day and Veteran's Day parades.
Ralph was also an avid hunter with his best time spent hunting turkey in Vinton County, OH. This is where he earned the nick-name "Killer" for his hunting skills.
Ralph had a great love of music. From bluegrass to big band and everything in between, he listened to it all. He often said he wished he could play drums but settled to play the stereo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Morris) Eynon, who died in 2007; two brothers, Fred Eynon and George Eynon; and one sister, Helen Shepherd.
He is survived by sons, Harry (Liz) Eynon of Canton and Jeffrey Eynon of Cambridge; two brothers, Harry Eynon of New Philadelphia and John (Dottie) Eynon of Cambridge; one sister, Nellie Jean Wendell of North Olmstead; four grandchildren, Craig (Tamie) Eynon of North Canton, Valerie Eynon of New Jersey, Angela Eynon of Byesville, and Vanessa (Patrick) Lucas of New Concord; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Laquita Davis.
