Peter David Lee Byers

With sadness the family of Peter David Lee Byers share that he left this Earthly plane on February 28, 2021 as the result of a recent illness.

Peter was born on December 21, 1942 in Hindman, Kentucky. Determined to get an education he paid his tuition at Alice Lloyd College with sacks of potatoes.

Peter is survived by his wife Lynn and three children Peter Byers of Jacobsburg, Berkeley Byers of Pahoa, Hawaii and Minerva Bunnag of D.C. He was estranged  from daughters Natalie and Kathleen.

In 1978 Peter was in a terrible coal mining accident. He was particularly grateful to the Quaker City Firemen and Mark Long specifically for saving his life. Peter was permanently disabled as a result But said. "Whatever determination was in me is still there." Peter designed and built Whiskey Run Golf Course on Seneca Lake from which he retired and enjoyed his final years as an accomplished Artist, Writer, Poet, and Inventor. He will be sadly missed by all he touched with his courage and creativity. Released from the relentless pain he endured during life, May he rest in Peace.
