Phillip M. Baker, 61, of Cambridge, died Saturday (April 25, 2015) at his home. He was born July 13, 1953 in Zanesville, son of the late Bernard R. Baker and Eve Elizabeth (Britton) Baker. Mr. Baker did ministerial work his entire life and served for 7 ½ years at the North Salem Community Church. He was a graduate of Newcomerstown High School and of the Southern Bible College of Houston TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard "Rod" Baker Jr. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Jean (Rayle) Baker, whom he married June 1, 1973; two sons, Timothy Baker of Coshocton and Cody Baker of Grangerland TX; a daughter, Sophia (& John) Brownfield of Searcy AR; six grandchildren, Camii Baker, Micheal (& Randi) Amore, Natalie Amore, Rachael Amore, Madison Amore, and Ashton Amore; two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Anthony; and a sister-in-law, Mary Baker of Cambridge. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Wednesday (April 29, 2015) at 1 p.m. with Pastor Phil Griffith officiating. Burial will be at North Salem Cemetery. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Thorn-Black Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
