Phyllis J. Gray, 57, of Quaker City, died Monday (Feb. 22, 2010) at Southeastern Med in Cambridge. She was born April 18, 1952, in Jerusalem, daughter of the late Joseph and Geneva (Parks) Coffey. Mrs. Gray was a former nursing home employee, having served at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, The Beckett House and Barnesville Health Care Center. She was a member of Salesville United Methodist Church. She was a member and secretary of the Pennyroyal Ruritan Club. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Gray; and a brother, James Coffey. She leaves her husband, James H. Gray, whom she married Dec. 30, 1970; a son, Bill (Heidi) Gray of Quaker City; a daughter, Michele Gray of Quaker City; three grandchildren, Kyle, Trevor and Austin Gray, all of Quaker City; and her mother-in-law, Madgel Gray of Quaker City. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will be 11 a.m. Friday (February 26, 2010) with the Rev. Wayne Hogue officiating. Ruritan Club services will be 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery.
