Randy Joe Enochs

July 12, 1951 — June 27, 2011

Randy Joe Enochs, 59, passed away at his current residence in Kipling after a prolonged illness on Monday (June 27, 2011). He was born July 12, 1951 in Cambridge, son of the late Joe Enochs and Marjorie (Clymer) Enochs. Randy was a carpenter with Enochs Construction. An avid hunter and fisherman, Randy spent every spare moment on Seneca Lake; competing in fishing tournaments, as well as operating "Ol' Whiskers Bait & Tackle Shop" where he handcrafted ornate lures and jigs. His love for fishing was more than just sport - it was a passion and way of life. Randy willingly donated time to other fishermen with either a kind word of encouragement or advice about the local fish to anyone who happened upon the store. When Randy wasn't on the lake, he could be found at local trapshoots and treeing contests. He was a true outdoorsman. He is survived by three daughters, Amanda (& Tom) Wood of Byesville, Heather Enochs (& Tony Hughes) of New Concord, and Renée Enochs of Marietta; a brother, Jeff (& Tina) Enochs of Kimbolton; three sisters, Susie "Pam" (& Ed) Gibson of Lore City, Cathy Jackson of Cambridge, and Jodie Arick of Quaker City; two grandchildren, Kyle Hughes and Alannah Work; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call Thursday (June 30, 2011) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Upon the request of the family, cremation will follow with the release of ashes into Randy's final resting spot, Seneca Lake.
