Ray Gean Wilson

Ray "Gean" Wilson, 84, of Laferia TX, formerly of Lore City, passed away Wednesday (June 29, 2016) in Weslaco, Texas. He was born July 13, 1931 in Pickens, WV and was the son of the late Loyal and Beulah (Cutright) Wilson. Gean retired from the US Air Force and was a Korean war veteran. After retirement he returned to Lore City where he was a full time farmer. He was a former member of Kipling VFW #7371, where he was Past Commander. He was currently a member of Cambridge VFW #2901. He was also a member of Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and the Guernsey County Veterans Council. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Frances (Figgins) Wilson and his second wife Helen Wilson; one brother Donald F. Wilson; three sisters, Betty Cale, Joy Morris, and Patsy Presdee; sister-in-law Sylvia Wilson. He is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Pam) Wilson of Alvaredo, TX and Jim (Nanette) Wilson of Germany; three daughters, Brenda (Harold Hollins) Wilson of Cambridge, Linda Bichard of Lore City and Nancy (Tom) Doutt of Cambridge; one brother Edward (Sue) Wilson of Lore City; two sisters, Sue Wilson of Cambridge and Delores (Courtney) Cowden of Newcomerstown; one brother-in-law "Old Pal Charlie" (Brenda) Presdee of Cambridge; one sister-in-law Charlotte Wilson of Reinersville; twelve grandchildren, Daniel, Jeff, Kenny, T.J., Kevin, Jill, Julia, Renee, Ryan, Ricky, Amanda and Erin; seventeen great grandchildren, Colin, Logan, Sissy, Lylee, Kadin, Kody, Braxton, Dakota, Javin, Jailyn, Dunnavan, Isaiah, Luis, Julissa, Katelynn, Blake and Addilyn; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends in Texas. Calling hours will be 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday (August 4, 2016) at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge where military services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. Burial to follow at a later date in Senecaville Cemetery.
