Raymond Joseph Defoor

Raymond Joseph DeFoor, 69, of Cambridge passed away Saturday (July 26, 2014) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. He was born November 12, 1944 in Youngstown and was the son of the late Albert Eugene and Bessie Mae (Hobba) DeFoor. Mr. DeFoor retired in 1992 from GTE after 30 years of service, he was a 1963 graduate of Punxsutawney High School and a member of Center United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Robert Ananea. He is survived by his wife Patricia L. (Tiffner) DeFoor whom he married October 3, 1994; four sons, Matthew DeFoor of Medina, Mark (Christy) DeFoor of Brunswick, Brett DeFoor of Columbus and Les (April) DeFoor of Salem, Oregon; one daughter Rhonda (Ken) Sanger of Litchfield; four step-sons, Don (Kelly) Swingle of Collyville TX, Richard Swingle of TX, Bryon Swingle of Brunswick and Mike (Michelle) Swingle of Clarksville, TN; two step-daughters, Sharon Molsbee of Euless, TX and Susan (Craig) Potter of Mansfield, TX; one brother Eugene Albert (Margaret) DeFoor of Punxsutawney, PA; three sisters-in-law, Norma (Jerry) Pearce of Mesquite, NV, Sue Borntrager and Rosemary Tiffner of Cambridge; one brother-in-law Bob (Coleen) Tiffner of Zanesville; twenty one grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; close friends Rodney and Diane Koon. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge where services will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor David Mansperger officiating. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Ridgemont Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
