Raymond "Sig" Gary Sigman

Raymond "Sig" Gary Sigman, 80, of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at his home. He was born Sunday, October 27, 1940, in Cambridge, son of James Andrew Sigman and Florence (Thompson) Sigman. Ray was a 1958 graduate of Byesville High School, and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps proudly serving his country. Sig spent his career in the auto body industry working for many area auto body shops. He retired following many years of service from Worl Thompson in Caldwell, as their auto body shop manager. Ray was a big fan of high school sports and could often be spotted in the crowd cheering on his favorite teams. He also enjoyed watching pro wrestling, stopping by to visit with his great-grandbabies and spending time with loved ones. Ray is survived by two daughters: Brooke (Tom) Shingary of New Concord and Jennifer Sigman (Randy) of Byesville; one brother: Donnie Sigman of Cleveland; two sisters: Pam (Allen) Callahan of Pleasant City and Sandy (Kenny) West of Byesville; his beloved partner: Sharon Davis of Newark; four grandchildren: Shane (Amber) Shingary, Jenna (Brice) McCarty, Micah Krosnnicki and Mackenzie Krosnicki; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of good friends. In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Sigman, who passed away September 23, 2013; one brother: Eddie Sigman and four sisters: Cheryl Thompson, Charlotte Melbar, Maralan McElroy and Mary Scott. Per Ray's wishes, no services will be held and a caring cremation will take place. Graveside Services with full military honors will take place at a later date.
