**SERVICES SCHEDULED** Funeral services for Raymond J. Gilcher, Jr., 82, of Cambridge, will be held on Saturday (May 9, 2009) at 11 a.m. at the Northwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Rev. Michael R. Seely will officiate. Family and friends are all invited to attend. Raymond J. Gilcher Jr., 82, of Cambridge, passed away Monday (December 1, 2008) at the Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born on February 3, 1926 in Cambridge, son of the late Raymond J. Gilcher Sr. and Kathryn (Davis) Gilcher. Mr. Gilcher was the owner-operator of Gilcher's Auto Service of Cambridge for nearly fifty years. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Cambridge. Mr. Gilcher enjoyed bowling and watching pro football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Gilcher; and a grandson, Kent Reasner. He leaves his wife, Edna (Gates) Gilcher of the home, whom he married on January 26, 1946; two sons, Rick (& Karen) Gilcher of Caldwell and Timothy (& Lori) Gilcher of Cambridge; three daughters, Kathryn (& David) Selby of Columbus, Linda Reasner of Columbus and Becky (& Dan) Valentine of Cambridge; a sister, Jean (& Ed) Gintert of Fort Pierce FL; eight grandchildren, Ray (& Valerie) Gilcher of Woodstock GA, Danielle (& Zack McHenry) Valentine of Byesville, Danny Valentine of Cambridge, Lindsay Gilcher of Lore City, Ryan Gilcher of Lore City, Jenna Gilcher of Lore City, Ashley Gilcher of Cambridge and Amber Gilcher of Cambridge; three great-grandchildren, Brittany Valentine, Austin Gattrell and Abigail Gilcher; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (December 3, 2008) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge Graveside services will be held at Northwood Cemetery at a later date.
