Raymond E. "Shorty" "Little Pap Pap" Hardy, 92, of Cambridge, died Thursday (June 7, 2012) at the home of his daughter. He was born March 4, 1920 in Cambridge, son of the late Charles Hardy and Carrie (Lippencott) Hardy. Mr. Hardy retired from Cambridge Iron & Metal. Mr. Hardy was a US Army veteran, having served during WWII. He enjoyed spending time with all of his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice (Hook) Hardy; three brothers, Ruben, Richard, and Charles Hardy Jr.; and two sisters, Mary Ford and Florence Hayes. He is survived by a daughter, Margie Mohler (& Dannie Hines) of Cambridge; a brother, Robert (& Myrtle) Hardy of Coshocton; two sisters, Dorothy (& Delbert) Snell and Betty (& Eugene) Gill all of Cambridge; two grandchildren, John Mohler Jr. and Lori (& Ken) Coulter; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua Mohler, Tiffanie Mohler, Cory Ross, Kristen Fouts, and Nick Coulter. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Monday (June 11, 2012) at 1 p.m. with Rev. Eugene Gill officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Raymond's name to the Guernsey County Veterans Council, PO Box 572, Cambridge OH 43725.
