Rex R. Boyd

Rex R. Boyd, 81, of Cambridge, died Saturday (January 14, 2017) at his home. He was born October 31, 1935 in Sharon, son of the late Fredrick D. Boyd and Marie (Bigley) Boyd. Mr. Boyd retired in 1992 from Champion Spark Plug, where he had worked as a millwright for many years. He was an avid bowler and a NASCAR enthusiast - a fan of Jeff Gordon for many years. Mr. Boyd was a member of the East Union Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Saundra (Dozer) Boyd, whom he married November 19, 1955; three daughters, Linda (& Lee) Oliver of Cambridge, Shelly (& Mike) Tyo of New Concord, and Lisa Stout of Hilliard; a brother, Max (& Peggy) Boyd of New Concord; a sister, Nila Moore of North Canton; seven grandchildren, Tim Murrey, Brandon Murrey, Tyler Oliver, Justin Tyo, Paige Tyo, Anthony Stout, and Vanessa Stout; nine great-grandchildren, Trenton Murrey, Joselyn Murrey, Jenna Murrey, Spencer Tyo, Hailey Tyo, Nash Tyo, Alyssa Stout, Cameron Stout, and Devin Stout; and several special nieces, nephews, and cousins. No calling hours will be observed. A celebration of life will be held Sunday (January 22, 2017) at 2 p.m. at the East Union Presbyterian Church (59535 Claysville Road, Cambridge) with Rev. Larry Jack officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
