Richard "Dick" Leo Cowgill, 91, of Cambridge, formerly of Huntsville, Al, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Dick was born February 18, 1935, in Barnesville, a son to the late Charles B and Nell (Bowen) Cowgill.

He worked for National Cash Register in Cambridge, Ohio where he worked up to a Process Engineer before transferring to Space Craft Incorporated, where he worked up through the ranks until he became a Plant Manager and retired in 2000. He continued to consulate for Space Craft Incorporated after his retirement.

Dick enjoyed camping in his travel trailers, watching sports, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes, and playing cards with friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara E (Gaston) Cowgill, whom he married on June 25, 1981, and who passed May 30, 2021; his brothers, William W. Cowgill, John S. Cowgill, and James B. Cowgill; a sister, Eleanor Mason; and a good friend, Steve Kellar.

Dick is survived by his children, Christie (& John) Suchora, Jeffrey (& Cynthia) Cowgill, and Renee (& Jim Craner) Cowgill; a stepson, Don (& Rhonda) Stephan; his grandchildren, Briann (& Bridget) Cowgill, Lorin Cowgill, Eli Owen Hubal, a step grandson, Justin Stephen; and good friends, Don and Sheila Revelle.

Per Dick's request cremation will take place at Thorn- Black Funeral Home and there will be no services. The family asks that you remember Dick for his wit, humor and loyalty to his friends and family.
