Richard F. "Dump" Ford, 84, of Cambridge passed away Monday (November 25, 2019) at his home.

He was born May 8, 1935 in Cambridge, a son of the late Frank and Ellen (Finney) Ford.

Richard served in the Ohio National Guard. He was employed at the former Cambridge State Hospital, Peabody Coal Mine, and Buckeye Disposal. Richard was also a business owner of the Black Warrior Café (The Budda).

Richard loved helping people in and around the community. He had a passion for hunting and fishing. Dump will be remembered most for the long hours he spent talking with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Philip Ford and Charles "PeeWee" Ford; sisters, Delores "Beetles" Ford and Natalie "Nat" Simpson; and a son, Brian Hollins.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Bell and Richard (Karen) Hollins; a daughter, Tamara (Bell) Todd; two brothers, Stephen "Pet" Ford and Stanley Ford; a sister, Jody Payton; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Vanae) Todd, Kenya, Jaden, Zairek Bell, Kiara Strupe, Richard, Brian, Mack, and Drew Hollins; a granddog, Maximo; six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a multitude of friends. We would be remiss not to mention Latisha Johnson, whom he thought of as a daughter.

No calling hours will be observed.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
