Richard C. Kelley Sr.

Richard C. Kelley Sr., 72, of Cambridge, died Monday (September 2, 2019) at Altercare at Summit Acres, Caldwell.

He was born June 2, 1947 in Cambridge, son of the late Orville E. Kelley and Betty J. (St. Clair) Kelley.

A graduate of Cambridge High School, Richard had worked at Randall Plastics for fifteen years, at the Hartley Company for seven years, and later retired from Seminole Tubular.

He was a founding member of the Freedom Riders Chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA). He was an avid Harley rider and a lifetime member of the Harley Owner's Group & American Motorcycle Association.

He also enjoyed woodworking and cherished spending time with his family.

Richard was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Cambridge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Pammy Sue Phipps.

He is survived by his wife, Fraulene Kay (Phipps) Kelley., whom he married August 21, 1965; two sons, Richard C. (& Tonya) Kelley Jr. of Byesville and Michael P. (& Viola) Kelley of New Concord; a brother, Dennis E. (& Sharon) Kelley of Fort Recovery; a sister, Kitty Hardy of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Jeston (& Brittney), Lorene, Graci, Briana, and Jacob (& Gwendolyn); five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Riley, Skylin, Cora, and Peyton; and a brother-in-law, Terry Phipps.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (September 4, 2019) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Thursday (September 5, 2019) at 11 a.m.

Burial will be at Cumberland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to one of the following organizations: 1) Genesis Parkinson's Support Group; or 2) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
