Richard Jonathan Mcconkey

Richard "Lumpy" Jonathan McConkey, 45, of Byesville, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at his home.

Richard was born on April 27, 1978, in Fort Bragg, NC, a son to Harold McConkey and the late Mary (Wallace) McConkey.

Richard was a warehouse supervisor. He enjoyed listening to music, Star Wars, riding motorcycles, and was a member of the Mason and Shrine club.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his son, Jackson McConkey.

Richard is survived by his father, Harold McConkey of Cambridge, three sons, Jared Finton of Byesville, Richard McConkey Jr. of Byesville, and Riley McConkey of Byesville, two daughters, Caila McConkey of Cambridge, and Emily McConkey of New Concord. Also left to cherish his memory are his brother, Steven (Kim) McConkey of Byesville, his sister, Angela (Dennis) Stephens of Byesville, several nieces and nephews, and the mothers of his children, Laura McConkey of Byesville, and Michelle Claggett of New Concord.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge from 5-7PM. There will be no services held.
