Richard E. Stewart, 65, of Cambridge, went to Heaven surrounded by his family on Tuesday (June 8, 2010). He was born February 7, 1945 in Cambridge, son of the late Jim Stewart and Ethel Mae (Rayner) Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a retired mechanic. He had formerly worked at the Muffler House. He enjoyed fixing cars and motorcycles, shooting pool, playing golf and fishing. He cherished spending time with his family. Mr. Stewart was a member of the Eagles Aerie 386 of Cambridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; and five infant siblings. He is survived by a son, Richard (& Heather) Stewart of Cambridge; two daughters, Denise "Dee" (& Joe) Conner of Pataskala and Laura Stewart of Cambridge; six brothers, James R. (& Cathy) Stewart, Clarence "Buddy" (& Lisa) Stewart, William "Bill" (& Beth) Stewart, Jerry "Jake" (& Sandy) Stewart, Rex (& Sherry) Stewart and Joe (& Connie) Stewart all of Cambridge; three sisters, Mary Neff of Byesville, Bonnie Gordon of Cambridge and Sandy (& Jeff) Watson of Cambridge; eight grandchildren; his former wife and caregiver, Sue Thompson; and his best friends, Lee Rausch, Terry Sisk and Ralph Henry. Family and friends may call on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where Eagles services will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (June 12, 2010) at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Rev. Nancy Parsons officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
