Ricky L. Beaver

Ricky L. Beaver, 69, of Middlebourne, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday (July 21, 2016), at his home. He was born Sept. 17, 1946, in Wheeling, W.Va., to the late Ray Beaver and Delores Clay. He was a 1965 graduate of Meadowbrook High School. He was a member of Sts Peter and Paul Parish. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Green Beret and staff sergeant from 1965 to 1971. He was a coal miner from 1972 to the present. Mr. Beaver was employed at Ohio County Coal Mine, Murray Energy as a foreman. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, H. David Beaver; a sister, Cindy Paige; and several cousins. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Duke) Beaver; and his children, Charlie (Stephanie) Beaver of Cambridge, Katherine (William) Hensley of Middlebourne, Patrick Beaver of San Antonio, Michael Beaver of Middlebourne and Matthew Beaver of Kimbolton; nine grandchildren, C.J. and Sydney Beaver, Josie, Karlye, Kali and William Hensley and Dylan, Isaac and Kohl Beaver; and several nieces and nephews. Ricky loved his family, his trains, his Pepsi, fishing and his favorite dog, Chi Chi. Calling Hours will be Tuesday, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge. Services will be at 6 p.m. with Father Paul Hrezo officiating. Military Services will be provided by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ricky's name to Pound Partners, P.O. Box 1384, Cambridge, OH 43726.
