Robert Dale Brown

Robert Dale Brown 1934-2007 Robert Dale Brown, 72, of Salesville, died Friday (March 30, 2007) at the Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge. He was born August 10, 1934 in Noble County, son of the late Frank Brown and Hazel (Hastings) Brown. Mr. Brown retired from Central Ohio Coal Company after more than twenty-five years of service as a coal miner. He also worked for ten years with the Operating Engineers. Mr. Brown was a union member of the United Mine Workers of America. Mr. Brown was a 1950 graduate of Batesville High School. He was a member of the Salesville Church of Faith. Mr. Brown was a U.S. Army veteran, having served with the 4th Armored Division. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. Brown Jr.; and a brother, William. He leaves his wife, Carolyn (Bates) Brown of the home, whom he married on October 11, 1958; two sons, Chris (& Crystal) Brown of Salesville and Paul (& Dana) Brown of Kentucky; two sisters, RuthAnn of Newark and Evelyn of Akron; four grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Frankie and Myah; two great-grandchildren, Kassie and Blaine; and his mother-in-law, Helen Bates of Salesville. Private graveside services will be held on Monday (April 2, 2007) at 1 p.m. at Salesville Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh and Pastor John Neff officiating. Burial will be at Salesville Cemetery.
