Robert Ed Davis, 71, of Cambridge, passed away Wednesday (February 13, 2008) at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born on September 21, 1936 in Guernsey County, son of the late Paul Davis and Celia (Leeper) Davis. Mr. Davis retired after thirty years as a dozer operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who enjoyed camping. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and with his two special dogs, Cookie and Sassy. Mr. Davis was a graduate of Zane Trace High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Savage and Patty Ulry. He leaves his wife, Karen (Kinsinger) Davis of the home, whom he married on November 27, 1981; four sons, Robert Davis Jr. of Cambridge, Gene (& Shelia) Davis of Ontario Canada, Bruce (& Christine) Bowman of Cambridge and Paul (& Cheryl) Davis of Byesville; three daughters, Norma Davis of Newfoundland Canada, Linda (& Barry) Wright of Newfoundland Canada and Lisa (& Kevin) Dakin of Cambridge; a brother, Donald Davis of Cambridge; a sister, Dorothy Davis (& Jake Dennis) of Quaker City; twenty-three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Raymond Ulry and Wally Bates of Old Washington; two aunts and several cousins. Private family services will be held at a later date with Pastors Mark Slay and John Pyle officiating.
