Robert Thomas Edgell, 84, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (February 3, 2015) at his home. He was born December 5, 1930 in Holloway, son of the late Curtis Orville Edgell and Edna Belle (Staggs) Edgell. Mr. Edgell retired from CSX Railroad, where he had been a chief clerk for many years. He was Methodist by faith. Mr. Edgell was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a life member of the St. Clairsville VFW Post 2901 and American Legion Post 84. He was a model truck collector and an avid letter writer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Max. He is survived by his wife, Cleora (Neilson) Edgell, who he married September 29, 1959; two sons, Robert Anthony Edgell of Utica NY and Thomas Allen (& Tina) Edgell of St. Clairsville; a daughter, Cindy Marie Edgell and her husband, Howard, of Holloway; a brother, Donald Edgell of Sterling VA; three sisters, Betty Stillion of Holloway, Erma Kemp of Belmont, and Mary Lou Markey of Reynoldsburg; two grandchildren, Lucy Angelina (& Shawn) Hughes of Athens and Dawn Marie Kuneth of Leesville; and a great-grandchild, Ariana Lynne Hughes. No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held at this time. Burial will be at Greenmont Cemetery, Freeport, at a later date.
