Robert "Bob" Frederick Powell

Robert Frederick "Bob" Powell, 68, of New Concord, died Saturday (January 29, 2011) at his home He was born January 14, 1943 in Berea, son of the late Robert Powell and Agnes Viola (Hasselman) Powell. Mr. Powell was the owner of R.F. Powell Building Systems Inc. for twenty-five years. He studied engineering at Gannon College in Pennsylvania He was a member of the Bloomfield Presbyterian Church, where he taught Sunday School and also served as an Elder and Lay Speaker. Mr. Powell was a gardener and landscaper with a love of flowers. He also enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, George Rood. He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn (Mekkelsen) Powell of the home, whom he married March 31, 1978; five sons, Randy (& Kristy) Powell of Lewis Center, Matthew (& Robin) Powell of Glenford, Marcus Powell of Conneaut Lake PA, Jack (& Lisa) McClelland of Fredericksburg, and Paul (& Amanda) McClelland of New Concord; a brother, Richard Powell of Ravenna; two sisters, Diane Rood of Salem and Patricia (& Harvey) Mulder of Ashtabula; ten grandchildren, Ryan Powell, Sarah Powell, Evan Powell, Nathaniel McClelland, Isaac McClelland, Ali McClelland, Maren McClelland, Tes McClelland, Tsige McClelland, and Ella McClelland; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (February 1, 2011) with Rev.
