Robert Gaddis

Robert "Bob" Gaddis, 76, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (September 9, 2020) at his home.

He was born July 18, 1944 in Shawnee, son of the late Jack Gaddis and Nancy "Elanore" (Thacker) Gaddis.

Mr. Gaddis retired from the US Army in 1982 after twenty years of honorable service to his country. He served two enlistments during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901.

Mr. Gaddis was a member of the Tin Cup Ministries.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Gore; a son-in-law, Jeff Gore; and a grandson, Daniel Hockenberry.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Nicholas) Gaddis, whom he married November 27, 1961; a son, Bert (Mary) Gaddis of Columbus; a daughter, Joyce (David) McDonald of Garland TX; two brothers, J.D. (Shirley) Gaddis of New Lexington and Gary (Ilene) Gaddis of Shawnee; two grandchildren, Christina (Nathan) Harris of Columbus and Nichelle (Tyler) Howell of Aurora CO; and two great-grandchildren, Nickolas and Charles.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (September 15, 2020) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Doug Wells officiating.
