Robert Kim "Rocky" Cox, 65, of Cambridge, died Thursday (February 9, 2012) at the Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers FL. He was born November 7, 1946 in Zanesville, son of the late Robert E. Cox and Marguerite (Moorehead) Cox. Mr. Cox was a switching technician for GTE/Verizon for many years. He was a 1967 graduate of the Wooster Business College. He loved golfing and fishing, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Mr. Cox was a US Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Christ Our Light Parish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Bobby; and his in-laws, Clarence and Hattie Armbruster. He is survived by his wife, Anita (Armbruster) Cox of the home, whom he married August 10, 1968; a son, Michael Cox of Cambridge; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Cox of Columbus; a granddaughter, Kristen Angelique Cox, who is currently attending Kent State University; and several cousins, including Clyde A. "Bud" (& Suzanne) Cox of Lakewood; Noreen (& Dale) Evans of Cuyahoga Falls, and Ted (& Mary) Briningstoof of Rives Junction MI. Family and friends may call on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where wake services will begin at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Christ Our Light Parish - St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday (February 18, 2012) at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Light Parish - St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, with Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in Robert's name be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Central Ohio, 2225 Citygate Dr, Suite E, Columbus OH 43215.
