Robert "Lee" LeeRoy Shinn, 84, of Byesville, died Thursday (February 5, 2015) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born November 26, 1930 in Evans WV, son of the late Roy Shinn and Laura (Stover) Shinn. He retired in 1992 from Wedren Properties in Shaker Heights. Mr. Shinn was a US Army veteran, having served for two years during the Korean War and then six years with the Army Reserves. He was a member of VFW Post 7371. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Margaret (Jones) Shinn; three brothers, George Shinn, Arnold Shinn, and Henry Shinn; two sisters, Margaret Wheeler and Eliza Critchfield; and a grandchild, Joy Shinn. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Stillion) Shinn, whom he married December 31, 1958; his children from his second marriage, Robert (& Cathy) Shinn Jr. of Colorado Springs CO, Michael (& Carol) Shinn of Cambridge, Jami (& Ralph) Bell of Bedford, Darrin (& Diana) Shinn of Cambridge; his grandchildren from his second marriage, Adam Shinn, Justin Shinn, Benjamin Shinn, Kaylie Shinn, Hilary Shinn, Dylan Shinn, Christopher Shinn, Brittni Lucas, and Brooke Shinn; his great-grandchildren from his second marriage, Caleb Mills-Shinn, Connor Shinn, Alan Lucas, Christopher Shinn, and Braven Shinn; his children from his first marriage, James Shinn of Barberton and Deborah (& Dave) Woods of Kent; his grandchildren from his first marriage, Evelyn Shinn-Shearer, Joshua Shinn-Shearer, Mary Earley, Timothy Woods, Stephen Woods, Richard Woods, Daniel Woods, Matthew Woods, and Thomas Woods; his great-grandchildren from his first marriage, Zachary Artis, Kayla Earley, Audrina Woods, Ayden Woods, and Jared Woods; a sister, Elsie (& Don) Hess of Barberton; and several nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Tuesday (February 10, 2015) at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
