Robert McAuley, 77, of Pleasant City passed away Monday (July 25, 2016) at his home. He was born September 28, 1938 in Cambridge and was the son of the late John D. and Leona (Gray) McAuley. Mr. McAuley retired from Cambridge City Schools and had previously worked at N.C.R. as an electrician. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #386 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and camping. Robert was an Army veteran and a 1956 graduate of Cambridge High School. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Tony and a brother David. He is survived by his companion of 45 years, Linda Moore of the home; one son Robert McAuley of New Mexico; one daughter Deborah Hobson of New Mexico; two step-daughters, Christy (Chris) Lowry of Logan and Jody (Kenny) Clark of Norwich; one sister Nancy (David) Mitchell of Cambridge; two step-grandchildren, Bryon and Braydon Lowry. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge where services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating. Burial will be in Guernsey Memory Gardens.
