Robert Glenn Mccoy Jr.

Robert Glenn McCoy Jr, 81, born on the 27th of April 1943, peacefully passed away at Marietta Memorial Hospital on the 18th of August 2024.

Graduating class of 1961, from Cambridge High, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Sargent, he was employed thereafter with Montgomery Wards, and the Cambridge Police Department as a lieutenant and interim acting chief where he retired. After retirement he worked for the Guernsey County Sheriffs Department as a Court Bailiff and retired from there.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, Saturday morning at the watering hole, guns and old westerns.

Robert G. McCoy married Rose Mary (Dyer) on December 19, 1965, sharing 57 years of cherished love and heartfelt memories together.

He presently remains in the hearts of his sons Robert J. McCoy (Brent Phipps), David M. McCoy (Michael Grubbs), brother Ronald McCoy and brother-in-law David Dyer.

Previously in his heart were his wife, Rose Mary McCoy, mother, Vera (Conley), father Robert Glenn McCoy Sr, Grandmother Rachel Conley, sister Dorothy Hare, brothers Mike McCoy and Tim McCoy and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Joe and Irene Dyer.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 11AM until the time of the service at 1PM, at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with the burial to follow at Guernsey Memory Gardens.
