Robert William Whitcraft passed away peacefully
on Saturday
morning, June 23, 2018 in Citrus Heights, CA at age 79.
He was born in Cambridge, Ohio on December 31, 1938 to the late William and Hope (Linehan) Whitcraft.
Mr. Whitcraft was a 1956 graduate of Cambridge High School and was later employed by the Daily Jeffersonian, the Ohio State Employment Service and McCormick Schilling.
He served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp and was a graduate from San Antonio college.
Mr. Whitcraft was an entrepreneur and resident of Salinas, CA for over 30 years. He owned various businesses including: software, travel agencies, agricultural and import/export.
He was a member of the Our Lady of Refuge Church in Castroville, CA and enjoyed history, dogs, cars, music, fine dining, Ohio State football and a good Irish joke.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his second wife, Mary (Culwell) Whitcraft, who passed in 2016.
He is survived by his first wife, Ursula (Whitcraft) Joens of Rio Vista CA; a son, Hans Whitcraft of Napa CA; a daughter, Sonja Whitcraft of Sacramento CA; a step-daughter Donnell Kies of Clearlake, Ca; a brother, Paul (& Barbara) Whitcraft of Columbus; a special aunt, Bonnie Landman; two special uncles, Martin and Wayne Stock; and two nieces, Kathy Roudabush and Kristy Bumgardner of Columbus, Ohio along with their children and grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be held Saturday (June 30, 2018) at 2 p.m. at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, Ohio.
Military graveside honors will be presented by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
