Robert Lee Wolfe, 78, of Cambridge, died Thursday (June 11, 2009) at his home. He was born July 6, 1930 in Cambridge, son of the late Hiram M. Wolfe and Rosa M. (Hill) Wolfe. Mr. Wolfe was a press operator, having worked at Phillips Plastics for twenty-two years and later retiring from Arrow Plastics in 1992. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed metal detecting. He also played softball in his younger years. Mr. Wolfe was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Cambridge. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Wolfe and Hiram "Duke" Wolfe Jr.; and three sisters, Viola Adams, Freda Willey and Virginia McHenry. He is survived by his wife, Monzella (Wagstaff) Wolfe of the home, whom he married on April 2, 1955; a son, Robert L. Wolfe Jr. of Cambridge; two daughters, Cheryl (& Richard) Farley of Cambridge and Traci (& Ronald) Shockling of Caldwell; two grandchildren, Maci Shockling and Brody Shockling; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Wolfe of Bakersville and Sue Bonham of Phoenix AZ; a brother-in-law, Raymond (& Sue) Wagstaff of Cambridge; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Monday (June 15, 2009) at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
