Roger Glen Dyer, 70, passed away Saturday (July 25, 2009) at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Caldwell. Mr. Dyer was a retired surveyor's supervisor with the Corna-Kokosing Construction Co. He was a 1956 graduate of Caldwell High School, and a member of Caldwell Church of Christ. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold "Blackie" Dyer, and his mother, Edna McCune Dyer. He is survived by his wife, Sinda J. (Poulton) Dyer of the home, whom he married on May 23, 1983; three sons, Michael (Melissa) Dyer of Cambridge, Roger Glen Applegate of Missouri, and Christopher Dyer of Buffalo; a stepson, Dickie (Crystal) Poland of Cambridge; two daughters, Melinda Dyer of Byesville, and Michele "Missy" (John) Douglas of Cambridge; three stepdaughters, Sandra (Terry) Ransom of Zanesville, Kathy Poland of Cambridge and Tessa Dunkle of Zanesville; grandchildren, Amanda Dyer, C.J. Dyer, Aaron Mercer, Jacob Heady, Nicole Douglas, and John Douglas; one special friend, Pam Todd of Cambridge; and a sister-in-law, Linda Poulton of Zanesville. Calling Hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. No services will be observed.
