Roger Starr, 77, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (December 3, 2013) at his home. He was born January 9, 1936 in Quaker City, son of the late Rodney Starr and Florence Gertrude (Betts) Starr. Mr. Starr worked for the FBI in the early 1960s. He later worked at RCA, NCR, and Central Ohio Coal. He was a consulting engineer for road construction. He was also a self-employed home builder. He loved fishing, golfing, and glass etching. Mr. Starr was a US Navy veteran, having served with the Seabees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Neil and Mark Starr. He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Gordon) Starr, whom he married September 5, 1964; two brothers, Franklin (& JoEllen) Starr of Cambridge and David Starr of Fairview; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends may call on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Saturday (December 7, 2013) at 11 a.m. with Evang. Michael Vierheller officiating. Burial will be at Glenford Cemetery.
