Ronald L. Jones

Ronald L. "Ronnie" Jones, 71, of Barnesville, died Sunday (March 4, 2007) at his home. He was born May 8, 1935 in Akron, son of Virgie Mae (Wilson) Perry and the late John Wayne Jones. Mr. Jones retired after thirty years as a salesman for NAPA. He was also a part-time employee for Cheffy Drugs of Barnesville. He was a 1955 graduate of Old Washington High School. He was the liaison for the church Boy Scout Troop and was an avid fan of the Barnesville Shamrocks. Mr. Jones was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Jones; and a sister, Marjorie Jones Cassan. He leaves his wife, Ruth (Smith) Jones of the home; his mother, Virgie Mae (Wilson) Perry of Barnesville; a son, Jeff (& Karen) Jones of Millersport; two daughters, Nanette (& Rich) Hoeck of Hockessin DE and Joyce (& Tom) Cook of Barnesville; three sisters, Geri Stiers of Longmont CO, Joann Saylor of Eure NC and Donna Curry of Woodland CA; a step-brother, Johnny Jones of Old Washington; and six grandchildren, Abby, Sharon, Nick, Emily, Mark and Mathew. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Memorial services will be held on Thursday (March 8, 2007) at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Barnesville with Rev. Andrew Woods officiating.
