Ronald "Butch" L. Smith

Ronald L. "Butch" Smith, 64, of Cambridge, died Sunday (May 16, 2021) at Altercare of Cambridge.

He was born June 11, 1956 in Akron, son of Dorcas "Dotty" (Rossiter) Smith-Jones and the late Lan Smith.

Mr. Smith was a retired truck driver.

He was a member of the NRA and enjoying the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Mr. Smith was a US Marine Corps veteran.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Rusty Larrick.

He is survived by his mother, Dotty Smith-Jones of Cambridge; a son, Wirt (Sheila) Smith of New York; two brothers, Mike (Paula) Smith of Cambridge and Randy (Debbie) Smith of Cambridge; two sisters, Debbie (Dale) Charleston of Kimbolton and Kim Larrick of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Sierra Smith and Chase Smith both of Byesville; and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will held Wednesday (May 19, 2021) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Kirk Gable officiating. Family and friends are all welcome, but due to COVID-19, FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED.  Please take all precautions to ensure your own safety and everyone else's should you decide to attend.

Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, at a later date with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
