Ronald Wayne Pollock, 60, of Cambridge, died Sunday (August 18, 2013) at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born June 18, 1953 in Cambridge, son of Cecil Dwain Pollock and Minnie Mae (Glasgow) Pollock. Mr. Pollock retired from the Guernsey County Sheriff's Department, where he served as a detective. He enjoyed visiting the state of Tennessee. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Pollock was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his parents, Cecil and Minnie Pollock of Byesville; two daughters, Misty Pollock of Knoxville TN and Heather Pollock of California; a son, Jamie (& Dawn) Pollock of Cambridge; three brothers, Ricky Pollock of New York, Russell (& Mary) Pollock of Columbus, and Randy (& June) Pollock of Cambridge; two sisters, Rhonda (& Joseph) Farhat of California and Ramona (& Cole) Robinson of Cambridge; and two grandchildren, Alicen Penland and Scott Penland II. He was also anxiously awaiting the birth of his first great-grandchild. Family and friends may call on Thursday (August 22, 2013) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where a memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with Mark Mealick officiating. The Guernsey County Veterans Council will conduct military honors at the conclusion of the memorial service.
