Ronald Eugene Purdum, 64, of Cambridge, died Friday (April 27, 2012) at his home. He was born February 22, 1948 in Zanesville, son of the late George Purdum and Emma (Hougton) Purdum. Mr. Purdum worked at the former Cambridge State Hospital and as a manager at the former Revco. He also bartended at the Moose and Eagles clubs. He was a member of the Guernsey County Senior Citizens Center, VFW, Moose, and Eagles. Mr. Purdum was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemary Simon and Marilyn Sue Wells; and a brother, Robert Purdum. He is survived by three brothers, William (& Shirley) Purdum of Apple Creek, Thomas Purdum of Mount Vernon, and George (& Beverly) Purdum of Zanesville; and a sister, Donna (& Carl) Waxler of Zanesville; his close friends, Tim Kennedy and Rob Thomas; and his dogs, Alex, Leo, and Black Jack. No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held.
