Ronald Eugene Whitsell

Ronald Eugene Whitsell, 74, of Maryland, died Monday (June 23, 2014) in Cambridge. He was born June 6, 1940 in Barnesville, son of the late Clarence Whitsell and Margaret (Gallagher) Whitsell. Mr. Whitsell retired from Aggregate Dirt Solutions (ADS), where he had been a supervisor. He was a member of the Barnesville VFW Post 2792. Mr. Whitsell was a US Air Force veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Bonnie Lynn. He is survived by his wife, Polly Solliday; a son, Randy (& Kelli) Whitsell of Maryland; a daughter, Tammy Whitsell (& Damon Detling) of Somerton; a stepson, Christian (& Erica) Solliday of Maryland; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Ben, and Christin Neuhart, Nathan, Kiersten, and Teagan Whitsell, and Jackson Solliday; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday (July 1, 2014) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville, where funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Rodney West officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Council. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to one of the following organizations: 1) Belmont County Animal Shelter; or 2) Barnesville VFW Post 2792.
