Roselyn "Rose" B. Laurent, 53, of Port Washington and formerly of Cambridge, died Sunday (December 19, 2010) at her home. She was born May 11, 1957 in Augusta GA, daughter of the late Michael Matisko Jr. and Hertha Katharina (Withopf) Matisko. Mrs. Laurent worked in foster care and was a systems analyst for various companies. She also was a substitute teacher. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Brooklyn College of New York. Mrs. Laurent was a member of Christ Our Light Parish, Cambridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy H. Laurent, who died September 30, 2004. They were married April 4, 1981. Also deceased are her grandparents, Michael and Helen Wasenko Matisko; a brother, Patrick Matisko; and an aunt & uncle, Mary and Mike Henry. She is survived by a daughter, Inga Laurent of Spokane WA; Rose's fiancé, Greg Dean of Port Washington; special cousins, Mary Kyser, Charlene Downing, Francis Gombeda Jr., and Christopher Gombeda and their families; a nephew, David Michael Matisko of Concord NH; her godmother and cousin, Catherine Henry Gombeda of Cambridge; several foster children; and many close friends in the Cambridge area. Family and friends may call on Thursday (December 30, 2010) from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, where a mass will follow at 6 p.m. with Father Robert Borer officiating.
