Roy "Rico" Cooper

Roy "Rico" Cooper, age 35, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Cambridge on Sunday (April 21, 2019) due to a tragic accident.

He was born on December 27, 1983 to Lisa (Underwood) Cooper and Roy Cooper.

Roy was an only child and he was the center of his parents' world. He was proud to be a Native American and was a loving father to his two children, Gage M. Cooper and Elyssia M. Cooper. Deeply missed by him were his two angel babies, Claudia A. Cooper and Jayden D. Cooper.

Roy enjoyed everything outdoors but was the happiest when riding his motorcycle or his jet ski. He attended Cambridge High School and continued his education with a degree from Zane State and a degree from Belmont College. Roy was a member of the Local Laborers 833 and was a hardworking Pipeliner who loved his crew brothers. Everyone who knew Roy knew he gave everything in his life 110%. He lived full throttle and loved with intense passion. If you were his friend there was nothing he wouldn't do for you.

Roy joins in Heaven his maternal grandfather, Joseph A. Underwood Sr.; paternal grandfather, Harold Cooper; paternal grandmother, Geneva Cooper; and uncle, Brian Underwood.

In addition to his two children, he leaves behind his mother, Lisa (Underwood) Cooper; father, Roy Cooper (Sarah Cooper); half-sister, Madison Cooper; girlfriend, Erica Roberts; loving grandmother, Martha A. Underwood; and an uncle who was more like a brother, Joseph A. Underwood Jr. (D'Anne Underwood). He also leaves behind many other special uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends who he considered brothers and sisters who held a special place in his heart.

Visitation will be held Monday (April 29, 2019) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating.
